I write software. I like to write it test-first, in small steps, and I never got over my love of programming languages and the programs that implement them.

I’m currently writing Elixir apps (mostly) at Euna Solutions. There’s some Ruby and (rarely for me) JavaScript, too.

Before that, I wrote Ruby for Centro (now Basis Technologies).

And in my previous life, I was an academic. Grad school, Ph.D., and then professor. I got my graduate degrees from Indiana University in Computer Science. Then I taught Computer Science in Iowa for two years and then nine years in Michigan.

If you’re wondering about the name, yes, “No Recess” is a strange name for a website. I have my reasons.
